Saint Kateri Youth Ministry 2017                                                                                                                  John Kennedy 05/17
Level 1 For Level 1, teens are asked participate or serve in 5 different ministries at Saint Kateri. The goal is to give them a sampling of the different aspects of parish life & help them discern which ministry they will commit to for Level 2.  When an individual chooses to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, this indicates that they are committing to active membership in the Catholic Church.  Therefore, we provide these opportunities to assist teens in finding out where they are being called by God and where they are best able to grow in their relationship with Jesus in the midst of His Church. There is no logging of hours or minimum time required for each Christian Living experience. The nature of each particular experience will determine the time commitment. Most experiences will be a one time event.  Occasionally, the experience offered requires participation for more than one time (for example: Vacation Bible School requires a 5 day commitment). The adult in charge of the ministry event will inform us of the start & end time.  Lots of Christian Living opportunities will be emailed blasted to teens & parents throughout the year.  Another source of ministry events to choose from is the "Ministry Options for Level 2 Christian Living" list.  This list is designed to communicate to Level 2 students what the total commitment is for each ministry they have to choose from.  However, if a Level 1 student would like to volunteer or participate in any of the ministries on that list on a one time basis, they can contact the person in charge of that ministry and volunteer for one of their events. Teens are to complete a reflection for each of their 5 ministry experiences and will turn in the reflection at their discernment interview in April 2015. Please be sure to read the instructions on the following document before you start your Christian Living:
